Interaction Meet on Nepal Industrial Benefit Plan at Biratnagar

An interaction meet on Nepal Industrial Benefit Plan was organized under the auspices of SAPDC and IBN, GoN at Hotel Asiatique, Biratnagar on 29/11/2018. Sh. KedarNeopane, Principal Secretary, Province No.1, GON was the Chief Guest on this occasion. The Joint Secretary, IBN Sh. Uttambhakta Wagle conducted the meet. Sh. S.K. Sharma, CEO-SAPDC welcomed the Chief Guest and other distinguished gathering. 

The program started with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest promised to extend all out support to remove all hurdles for execution and timely completion of Arun-3 HEP. The CEO, SAPDC, Sh. S.K.Sharma also gave a detailed presentation on Arun-3 HEP with an emphasis on the provisions under Nepal Industrial Benefit Plan (NIBP) and highlighted the requirement of manpower, material, goods, services, etc. during various stages of construction of the project and role of the various industries& business community of Nepal contributing to timely execution of the Project. Other major Contractors of Arun-3 HEP (i.e. C-1, C-2, HM & E&M packages) also gave their respective presentations on the subject matter followed by question & answer session. This meet was in line with the provisions of Project Development Agreement (PDA). Out of total two such interaction meetings this was first at Biratnagar. Another interaction meet will be organized in next 2-3 months at Kathmandu.

The Secretaries/ Dy. Secretaries and other officers of various ministries of GoN viz. Ministries of Industry, Commerce & Supplies, Environment, Forest, Energy & water Resource, Physical Infrastructure & Transport were present in the meet. Also the representatives of various Transport Associations of Nepal, Cement and Steel Industries of Nepal, Aviation Industries of Nepal, District Coordination Committees of various Districts of Sankhuwasabha, GaunPalikas and Electronic & Print media were present in the Meet. All senior officers of SAPDC were present on this occasion. About 150 people from different sectors attended the interaction meet.
