SAPDC Project Visit by SJVN’s Chairman & Managing Director, Director (Finance), Director (Civil) & Director (Personnel)

The top Management of SAPDC’s promoter company (SJVN Limited) namely Mr. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD); Mr. Amarjit Singh Bindra, Director (Finance); Mr. Kanwar Singh, Director (Civil) & Mrs. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), visited the Project Sites of SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Limited, from 31.03.2019 to 01.04.2019, located in remote areas of Distt. Sankhuwasabha, Province-1, Nepal.

During this visit they inspected the work progress of SAPDC’s Power House Complex mainly in its work sites like Main Access Tunnel-2 (MAT-2), Crown Access Tunnel (CAT). A inaugural blast was executed by CMD for enabling excavation works in Tail Race Tunnel (TRT). Thereafter they visited the SAPDC’s Dam Complex, wherein the inspections of major work fronts like Dam Stripping (r/b), Diversion Tunnel Inlet and Outlet at Right Bank of Arun River. Thereafter they also inspected the progress of Adit-1. The blast was also executed by CMD for enabling excavation works in upstream & downstream works of Main Access Tunnel (MAT) through already completed Adit-1. Further the Transit Camp Building of SAPDC was also inaugurated by CMD in the presence of Dir (F), Dir (C) & Dir (P). Extensive meetings with the Top Management of the major contractors were also taken by the SJVN Management. During these meetings the Management though showed satisfaction on the efforts being made by both the Contractors, but it was desired and emphasized by the Management that in order to complete the project within or before the timelines, some major steps need to be taken by the respective Contractors as well as by the SAPDC.

The dignitaries stayed at the SAPDC Complex at Phakshinda. The Management then visited the SAPDC’s Complex at Tumlingtar wherein Foundation Stone was laid down for construction of SAPDC’s new building named as ‘Everest Bhawan’. The Management also met all the employees of SAPDC by way of collective meetings as well as meeting in person, and tried to understand their issues and constraints. Management stressed upon the importance of timely completion of the construction activities and ascertained extending all possible help & support in carrying out the construction works. The Chairman and Managing Director also exhorted employees to work day and night as the project is of significance importance to SJVN, Government of India and Government of Nepal.

During this visit the Management also met the delegation of representatives from local government representing Chichila Gaun Palika, which lead by Mr. Nurbu Pasang Sherpa, Chairman and various Heads of Wards falling in the Chichila VDC. During the meeting various issues were discussed and the management issued directions to the concerned to accommodate the interest of local people and the resources during construction of this project.
